Geek Girls Rule! #561 – That’s a Thing

Ok, so today I’m going through my email, and I see this article.

Of all the characters I thought Marvel would give a property, Daimon Hellstrom was not even in the top 30.

Daimon Hellstrom is the son of Satan, and has spent much of his comics lifetime fighting his father, and his sister Satanna, who becomes a succubus.

Yeah…

He’s also canonically Patsy Walker’s ex-husband, and tricked Hawkeye and the Thunderbolts into rescuing her from Hell, instead of Mockingbird.

Go read the wiki, because there is really too much to cover in one post.

Also, they cannot possibly mean to replicate Satanna’s costume.  Not without a ton of spirit gum and/or double-sided tape.

Seriously, the 70s were a hell of a time in comics, pun totally intended.

Daimon Hellstrom first appeared in Ghost Rider vol 2, #1, and had his own miniseries.  He’s appeared all over the Marvel universe, interacting with teams like the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and was a member of the Defenders for a time.

Ok, I adore this character, but again, there was no way I saw Marvel giving this guy an appearance, let alone a series.  I’m really looking forward to this.

But then again, I had no clue they would try to make Cloak and Dagger a show either.  I mean, given the success of the CW, I could totally see Runaways.  Legion was also a bit of a surprise.

Who’s next?  Moon Knight?  Oh please, oh please, oh please!  Or maybe not.  Moon Knight when done well is great. However, the percentage of time where he’s done well is pretty vanishingly small.
