So, yeah, one of the things I did this year was let my friends write my New Year’s Resolutions.  I won’t go into all of them here, but I have to say, my friends came up with far better resolutions than I typically do.

I encourage all of you to have your friends come up with your resolutions.  Now, yeah, we all have the asshole friends who’ll say stupid shit.  But for the most part all of mine were very sweet and thoughtful.

Some examples of resolutions I’ve received and given are:

Make more art.
Be kind to yourself.
Do more awesome shit.
Read more webcomics.
Write more.
Take time to yourself at least once a month.

I think we should all take this opportunity to pledge to do more things we enjoy. To work toward finding jobs that will let us live and have time to do things we love.

I think we should go out of our way to find new perspectives, consume more media by women, poc, queer, trans and non-binary people.  Consume more media by people from different cultures.

Also be kinder to yourselves, to others.  Introduce people to your hobbies and interests instead of gatekeeping.

And for fuck’s sake, think about things before they leave your mouths.

Guys, if you’re going to “compliment” a woman, make sure it’s a compliment.  Compliment hair, make up, clothes shoes.  “Nice rack,” is never actually a compliment.  No.  Not ever.  Compliment her skills at a game, painting, speaking, coding.
