I know, I know, I’ve been uncharacteristically cheerful here lately, which is, admittedly, not what most of you tune in for, but hey… Everyone has off months.
Today I would like to gush over the jewelery design abilities of our own Miss Tammy Mickelson. Tammy designs, makes and sells jewelery on her Artfire site, and local art fairs. She’s got a collection of Halloween themed jewelery for sale right now. She gave me a similar pendant that she made specially for me.
She has several really neat designs similar to this with a variety of creepy designs like this spider necklace.
Or really several different pieces using this very classic cameo with a twist, the face is a skull. As someone who loves cameo jewelery, yet also enjoys the macabre, I LOVE THESE.
For those of you who enjoy the Steampunky side of things, she has several different Steampunk inspired designs from incredibly silly designs, to very elegant. On the silly side of things, we have the cartoon skulls with the gears in their eyes.
However, if you like a more refined look to your genre specific jewelery, she has designs like this key pendant.
I heartily urge you to head on over to her Artfire page and check out the rest of her designs. She has barrettes with flowers, barrettes with bats or spiders, beaded bracelets, and pendants. She won Best in Show for Jewelery at the Norwescon Art Show this past year, and we’re looking forward to a repeat this next year. You should definitely check her stuff out and let her work add a little sparkle to your day.
ETA: The key pendant has sold already! So I thought I’d add a picture of one of Tammy’s newest pieces. I’m of two minds here, because I want her to do well, but at the same time I love this piece.
